Two vehicle accident in Hometown

Two vehicles had to be towed after a collision that occurred Saturday evening at the SR309 and Tide Road intersection. Rush Township police are investigating. Reportedly, while driving north on SR309, Raymond McMackin, Wilkes Barre, in a 1994 Buick, struck a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, operated by Nancy Brandmier, Hazleton, as she turned from Tide Road onto SR309 south. Responding were Hometown Fire Company, Tamaqua Rescue and Tamaqua ambulance. Two children were in Brandmier's vehicle. No serious injuries were reported. Township fire police detoured traffic during the cleanup.
