Santa to arrive in a helicopter

Published November 30. 2011 05:01PM

Once again Christmas on the Hill in Summit Hill, which will be held Saturday, will feature Santa arriving by helicopter.

Santa will arrive on the Ginder Field between 10:30 and 11 a.m.

Christmas on the Hill is sponsored by the Summit Hill Recreation Commission.

After Santa arrives, he will join the Summit Hill children for breakfast immediately at the Summit Hill Community Center.

The children will have breakfast with Santa, write him a letter and have a short visit with him.

"This spectacular event is once again held on behalf of the Recreation Commission, free of charge ... however, Santa would be so grateful to see each child bring an unwrapped toy for Santa's bag for those less fortunate," said Monica Marshall, president of the Recreation Commission.

The arrival by helicopter is coordinated through the Lehighton Ambulance Association.

Also assisting is the Summit Hill Fire Department.

The helicopter arrival is dependent on the weather.
