Tamaqua man cited for theft
A Tamaqua man has been cited after he reportedly failed to return equipment to a fire department in the borough.
Jonathon Jones, 30, of 101 Pine St., agreed to be a volunteer firefighter with Tamaqua's American Hose Company in 2006.
He was provided with a pager on Aug. 15, 2006, and signed an agreement to follow the rules of use and obligations required for continued use of the pager.
On July 10, 2009, officers of the company determined Jones was in violation of the agreement he signed and began attempts to have their property returned.
Despite letters and personal contact, Jones has failed to return the pager.
He was charged with theft by unlawful taking.
