A fire truck's siren was substituted for reindeer bells as Santa Claus arrived in Coaldale yesterday evening during the 25th annual C.H.O.S.E. Community Tree Lighting event held outside the Coaldale borough hall.

In addition to Santa lighting the tree, the event consisted of carols, music, gifts and snacks for the kids. C.H.O.S.E. (Church, Home, Organization, School, Environment) holds the event every year free of charge to local children.

Angela Krapf, president, stated her appreciation to the Coaldale fire company, police department, volunteers and community members that help make the event a fun event for so many children. Krapf also stated her appreciation to Yenser's Tree Farm of Lehighton for donating the town Christmas tree.
