A hit-and-run driver is being sought in Schuylkill County. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred about 9:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, along SR443 in Pine Grove Township.

Troopers said Kaine P. Richway, 21, of Hegins, was driving a 1998 Dodge Ram eastbound while a Chevrolet was westbound. As the vehicles passed, the side mirrors on both vehicles struck. The mirror on the Dodge collapsed rearward and shattered the driver's side window.

Richway pulled into a nearby parking lot. The driver of the Chevrolet turned around, pulled into the lot but did not exchange information with Richway and left the scene eastbound.

Richway and two passengers were not injured.

Troopers also reported investigating a one-vehicle crash about 6:10 a.m. on Friday along SR125 in Tremont. Troopers said Cory A. McLaughlin, 28, of Port Carbon, was driving a 1997 Subaru Legacy southbound and negotiating a right-hand curve when he lost control. The car traveled across both lanes and struck a utility pole with the right front bumper.

McLaughlin sustained a minor injury and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. A passenger, Hunter L. Diebert, 5, Port Carbon, was not injured.

Troopers said McLaughlin was cited for numerous motor vehicle code violations.
