The Tamaqua Salvation Army held their 2011 Red Kettle Kickoff Drive at the Tamaqua Depot Square Park to start their 2011 holiday red kettle fundraising campaign.

Volunteers played timbrels, while others sang Christmas carols and said prayers.

Major Margaret Johnson, Tamaqua Salvation Army, stated, "We are always looking for volunteers to stand at a red kettle." Major Sharon Whispell added, "Any gift of time is appreciated." The red kettles are located at many businesses throughout eastern Schuylkill and Carbon county. Anyone wanting to volunteer time ringing the bell at a local business is encouraged to stop by the Tamaqua Salvation Army, 105 West Broad Street, or call (570) 668-0410.
