A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 1:27 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, along Kuhenbeaker Road near Long Pond Road, in Long Pond.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers conducted a traffic stop. While at the stop another vehicle, an Oldsmobile sedan, pulled in front of the stopped vehicle and the driver exited the car and began to walk away.

After officers cleared the traffic stop they went to check on the other driver and to see why she had abandoned her vehicle. The other driver was identified as Renee Albazey, 46, of Tobyhanna.

Albazey's vehicle was found to be out of fuel and she was found to be under the influence of alcohol. She failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DUI.

The DUI charge is pending blood test results, police said.
