Monroe business cited by PLCB

A Monroe County business has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board.

Modern Way Inc., doing business as Mama Maria's, located in Blakeslee, Tunkhannock Township, was cited for sold alcoholic beverages after the eating place malt beverage license expired on Sept. 30, and had not been renewed and/or validated. The alleged offense occurred on Oct. 5.

The charge will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serous offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocatioin of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
