An Allentown driver is facing multiple charges, including driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident in Slatington.

Borough police said about 4:54 a.m. on Nov. 10 they responded to the 600 block of Main St. for an accident involving a rear-end collision. The driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene at a high rate of speed. He was eventually stopped on Main Street in Emerald and taken into custody.He was identified as Richard O. Inabinett, 29, of 727 Chestnut St. He was charged with DUI, fleeing and eluding police, reckless driving, careless driving, driving while operating privileges are suspended, accident involving damage to an attended vehicle, duty to give information and render aid and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.He was transported to the county prison pending arraignment.
