Receiving dictionaries is "wonderful"

Published November 16. 2011 05:01PM

The Rotary Club of Lehighton visited Towamensing Elementary School and to the delight of the students, distributed dictionaries to all 44 of the school's third graders in Mrs. Hard and Mrs. Calpas classes. It is their book to keep. After Rotary members, Becky Wanamaker, coordinator of the dictionary project, and Leon Morgan, the club's vice president, passed the books out to the students, they had fun looking up words like "autumn" and "wonderful" and the longest word. The Rotary Club of Lehighton distributed dictionaries to all 3rd graders in Lehighton and Palmerton public and private elementary schools. The club meets every Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. at the Beacon Restaurant in Lehighton.
