Funds raised at the telethon will be used to help this all volunteer organization fulfill dreams for seriously, chronically and terminally ill children in Carbon County and surrounding communities.
The lineup of entertainment includes Tommy Zito (The Piano Man), who will entertain with his comic personality, impersonations and his never ending repertoire of music.
Also performing are the band Beer Money; the Dream Kids, Erin Kelly, Kristal Nemeroff, Nicole Donatone, Joe Urban and Robin Drexler, Joyful Noise, Angela Nardini, Jeann Andrews and band, Poetic Justice; Richie Moanero; Blue Mountain Christmas and Arthur Terembula.
Several children who have had dreams fulfilled will also be on hand to talk about their dream.
Eileen Thompson, president of the Dream Come True, Blue Ridge Chapter and telethon chairman, said, "Our dedicated volunteers have been busy. We completed six dreams so far this year, with two more to be completed by year's end and three already in the fulfillment stages for completion in 2012. We also have six children in various stages of the dream fulfillment process. We are proud to have four children enrolled in our scholarship program. Our Chapter also provides a Holiday party and a summer outing for our dream recipients. This year we enjoyed a night at the Iron Pigs ballgame with a buffet dinner on the PPL Patio. The Blue Ridge Chapter is 100 percent volunteer and all money raised is used for our children. The telethon gives us an opportunity to formally thank the many organizations and individuals that support our cause, through monetary donations or by volunteering their time and talents. With the help of donations from our viewing audience, we will be able to continue our mission of providing a dream for every eligible child in our service area. If you know a child who is seriously, chronically or terminally ill, please refer them to our organization for the chance to have a dream. Referral forms can be found on our web site or by mailing a letter to Dream Come True, Blue Ridge Chapter, PO Box 344, Palmerton, PA 18071. If you would like to become a volunteer, please complete the form on our website or call (610) 826-4080."
