Smart phone application available for turnpike travelers

Published November 12. 2011 09:01AM

A first of its kind alert system, "TRIP Talk," is a free smart phone application (app) now available for motorists to use while traveling on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Using "TRIP Talk," Pennsylvania Turnpike drivers can receive updated travel alerts. There is no registration required and interested drivers can download the smart phone app and launch it before driving. The application uses an internal GPS system found in most smart phones to provide drivers with the most accurate road conditions.

For more information about the app, visit State Rep. Doyle Heffley's website at and click on "TRIP Talk."
