Veterans to be treated to a hearty breakfast

Published November 11. 2011 05:02PM

Veterans who make it a habit to eat their first meal of the day should bring their appetites to the Village at Palmerton.

Those who do will receive a hearty breakfast at the second annual Veteran Honorary Brunch and Entertainment Gala Monday.

Hosted by the Village at Palmerton, the event is open to veterans and their spouses. Proof of service is required.

A breakfast brunch will be held at 10 a.m. on the second floor, followed by entertainment from Hal Brister at 11 a.m.

George Duell Jr., Freedom Team Salute, Ambassador, U.S. Army, will serve as guest speaker.

Norma Kunkel, director of marketing and admissions, said veterans deserve to be treated to a one-of-a-kind brunch.

"We want to do something to honor the local veterans for preserving our freedom," Kunkel said.

Last year's inaugural event proved to be a rousing success, as veterans and their spouses were treated to a delicious brunch assortment.

The Village at Palmerton is an assisted and independent living facility that provides individualized personal care services that address the physical, social, and spiritual needs of each resident.
