Texas resident facing charges
A Texas resident is facing charges following an incident in Monroe County. State police at Fern Ridge said the incident occurred about 1:10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, in the 6300 block of SR715, in Chestnuthill Township.
Troopers said Jon Lloyd Evans Jr., of Effort, reported that he was at a residence when he got into an argument with Robert John Dehanes Jr., of Pebble Beach, Lakehills, Texas, along with Kevin John Rogan Sr. and Kevin John Rogan Jr. Evans said he was exiting the property when Dehanes told him not to return unless he found a job.
Evans said when he turned to ask Dehanes what he had said, he was struck on the top of the head with a closed fist by Dehanes. Evans also claimed Rogan Sr. then held him while Dehanes struck him two more times in the right facial area above his left eye.
Evans, who did have a visible abrasion above his eye, said he then got into an argument with Regan Sr. at the front door. He said he then observed Dehanes walk down the hallway with a black semi-automatic handgun. He allegedly raised the weapon and pointed at Evans.
Evans left the scene and eventually called state police.
Troopers said they removed a black semi-automatic handgun from the residence, a Stra Mod A-90 9 mm.
Dehanes was taken into custody and later arraigned before a district judge on charges of simple assault and reckless endangering.
