Mobile Edge announce third annual Coats for Kids drive

Published November 08. 2011 05:00PM

Coats For Kids is going on now at Mobile Edge. Bring in a new or gently used child's coat and Mobile Edge will give you a discount off a remote car starter installation.

Warm yourself and warm a child at the same time. Customers who do not want a remote car starter are still welcomed to bring in coats or children's outerwear and Mobile Edge will see that they go to good use.

Mobile Edge began the Coats For Kids Drive in 2009. That year, nearly 200 coats were collected. In 2010 the tally topped 250. Mobile Edge is hoping to collect over 300 coats this season.

Interestingly enough, the coat drive or spinoffs of it are popping up at other mobile electronics stores throughout the nation. Mobile Edge owner Mitch Schaffer says "We are very active within our industry and share a lot of ideas with other shops throughout the country and abroad. We are very pleased to see that many other shops are following our lead and starting similar drives at their own stores."

Schaffer notes that "All of the coats that are collected at Mobile Edge will be distributed to local charities and churches. It is our goal to keep everything in Carbon and surrounding counties."

Coats may be dropped off at Mobile Edge during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 10 a. m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the end of January. For additional information, visit the store or call 610-377-2730 and ask for Mitch.
