State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft incident at a Schuylkill County fire company. The theft is one of two theft incidents, along with a burglary, occurring in the county.

Troopers said the Independent Hose Company, located at 16 Sunshine St., East Norwegian Township, had the office area forcibly entered. Once inside the criminals forced open a locked drawer and removed about $650 that was raised during a fundraiser. The incident occurred sometime between Nov. 1-3, troopers said.

Troopers are investigating a theft at the residence of James E. Vance, 39, of 254 Fearnot Rd., in Valley View, Hubley Township. Unknown criminals removed four wheels and tires from inside a garage. The tires are Firestone Destination A-T and valued at about $600. The wheels are factory wheels for Chevrolet trucks and are aluminum with six lugs and valued at $200.

The theft occurred sometime between Oct. 17-25.

Troopers said a barn on the property of Joshua Daniel and Daniel Darryl Miller, located along Moyer St., Sacramento, Hubley Township, was entered but nothing apparently taken. However, a shed attached to the barn was also entered and removed was a Marlin .22-caliber long rifle owned by Daniel Miller.

The burglary occurred sometime between Nov. 1-4.
