Lehigh driver facing DUI count

A Lehigh County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 3:17 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, along Meadow Drive, in South Manheim Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Dylan M. Ditzler, 24, of Allentown, was driving a 2001 Honda Prelude eastbound and approaching a curve. The Honda left the road and struck a tree with the passenger side front end. After impact the car re-entered the road and traveled about 14 feet before overturning onto its roof around the middle of the road, troopers said.

After overturning the car slid on its roof about 16 feet before coming to final rest on the westbound lane.

Ditzler sustained a neck injury and was taken to Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. Troopers said Ditzler was also found to be under the influence of alchol and was placed under arrest. Charges are pending blood test results, troopers added.
