JROTC Boosters meeting
The next meeting for the Panther Valley High School JROTC Boosters will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 in the JROTC room. All parents and guardians are encouraged to attend.
Ride to polls
Lansford residents needing a ride to the election precincts in town on Tuesday, Nov. 8, when the General Election will be held, can contact Emmett McCall, (570) 645-2093.
The social committee of the Summit Hill Lions Club will meet tonight at 7:15 at Kelly's Irish Pub, Lansford. Plans for the upcoming Christmas party will be discussed.
The Anthracite Little League will meet on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m. at the Summit Hill Borough Building. President Roobhenn Smith will be in charge of the session.
The agenda will include nominations for head coaching positions, financial reports, news and notes from the offseason, registration fees, field usage, election of officers and ratification of bylaws for the 2012 season. Persons aspiring to coach in the league next year are reminded they must be present at this meeting to accept a nomination.
SHCIO to meet
The monthly meeting of the Summit Hill Community Improvement Organization will be held on Monday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. in the borough hall.
The monthly meeting of the Summit Hill Borough Council will be held on Monday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. in the borough hall. Joseph Weber, president, will chair the meeting.
The monthly meeting of American Legion Post 316, Summit Hill, will be held on Monday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the post home. Commander W. Kevin O'Donnell will be in charge of the session.
A meeting of the Home Association will immediately follow the post's meeting.

Special service at Zion Lutheran
The special Reformation service, hosted by Zion Lutheran Church, Nesquehoning, the four Lutheran churches of the Panther Valley Zion, St. Paul's, Trinity, and St. John's, has been rescheduled to this Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church on East Catawissa Street, Nesquehoning. This service will include a re-enactment of highlights of the Reformation.
Reformation Day honors Martin Luther who on Oct. 31,1517 posted his 95 Theses oo the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany which started the Protestant Reformation.
Leading in the re-enactment are Dr. Louis Vermillion and Brian Buzik.

Coaldale Lions will meet Tuesday, Nov. 8 and Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 5:45 p.m. at Viennese Villa in town. President Robert E. Ames will preside.
