A Tamaqua Area Senior High School student was cited by police twice on Friday, Oct. 28, and faces disciplinary action under the district's zero tolerance policy.

Officers were dispatched to the school at 9:30 a.m. to deal with a student who appeared to be suffering from the ill effects of alcohol. Joseph Kamant, 18, of 304 Spruce St., Tamaqua, was cited for underage drinking after officers determined he had been drinking alcohol the night before.At 11:12 a.m. officers were again dispatched to the school after Kamant allegedly began slamming lockers, causing a disturbance. He was cited for disorderly conduct.
