DUI arrests reported
State police at Lehighton reported on several driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers over the past weekend.
Troopers said about 7:09 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, they responded to a crash along SR248 in Bowmanstown. Troopers said Heath C. Bullard, 40, of Lehighton, was driving a 2008 Mazda westbound when the vehicle left the roadway and struck the rear passenger side of a Ford F550 truck with the front driver side of the Mazda. The Ford was parked and operarted by Craig A. Johnson, 50, of Reading.
No one was injured. Troopers indicated Bullard is facing a DUI count and a charge of driving on roadways laned for traffic.
A 17-year-old male juvenile from Palmerton is facing a DUI charge following an incident about 1:10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, along Mauch Chunk Road at Delaware Avenue, in Palmerton.
Troopers said the juvenile was pulled over after committing several motor vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence and arrested.
Troopers said a passenger in the vehicle, Richard Moore Viands, 18, also of Palmerton, was found to have consumed alcohol and is facing a underage drinking charge.
Also on Saturday, about 12:16 a.m., troopers stopped Robert N. Heffelfinger Jr., of the 3000 block of Seemsville Rd., Northampton, along SR248 at the Carbon-Northampton county line, in Lower Towamensing Township, after obseving him driving erratically.
He was found to be under the influence and is also facing a charge of driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Troopers said on Sunday, Oct. 30, about 2:05 a.m. they stopped Christopher Koehler, 19, of Kunkletown, along Dogwood Lane, in Polk Township, Monroe County, for an equipment violation. He was found to be under the influence and will be charged, troopers said.
