Three charged for incident at bar

Published May 28. 2011 09:00AM

Tamaqua police have finished an investigation into a reported fight at the Tiki Bar, 20 Mauch Chunk St., that injured two people in February.

After interviewing numerous victims and participants and Cpl. Henry Woods has filed charges against three people involved in the melee Anthony Edward Pascoe, Joshua Michael DeWire and Charles Mimms.

When officers arrived at the bar at 11:49 on Feb. 11, they found a man on the floor, bleeding from a head wound. The victim was identified as Jermaine Davis, who was transported to a hospital in serious condition. When he was able to speak, Davis told officers all he could remember was seeing Pascoe standing close to him and a pool stick coming at his head. The next thing he remembered was waking up in the hospital.

From witness accounts officers determined that Pascoe confronted Davis over an alleged incident involving Davis and Pascoe's mother. DeWire was the one who allegedly struck Davis with the pool stick. In the ensuing rumble Mimms punched a Jason Weaver, who was behind the bar at the time, for no apparent reason.

DeWire, 21, of 66 Holland St., Tamaqua, was charged with simple assault, simple assault with a weapon and harassment.

Pascoe, 24, of 230 Green and 112 N. Greenwood St., Tamaqua, was charged with simple assault and harassment.

Mimms, 30, of 18 Mauch Chunk St., Tamaqua, was charged with simple assault and harassment.
