Published May 26. 2011 05:01PM

Carbon Leaf blasted into the national spotlight with their major label debut, "Indian Summer."

Saturday night, the group makes a stop at the Mauch Chunk Opera House in a concert starting at 8:30 p.m.

Carbon Leaf have supported major national tours with Dave Matthews Band, Counting Crows, John Mayer and also headlining their own.

Their blend of folk-rock, Americana, celtic, bluegrass, rock and pop lends itself to a variety of live formats.

Before they launch their national summer tour, see them onstage at the Mauch Chunk Opera House.

A concert on Saturday night at the concert by Michelle Shocked has been postponed. No new date was announced.

Jay Smar and KJ Smile will be at the venue on Saturday, June 4.

In the last 5 years, Smar, who has area roots, has toured Scotland twice, performed at the Philadelphia Folk Festival twice, recorded music for the Welsh BBC movie, "The Welsh in America" and has been selected by the Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour to be on their professional touring roster.

He serves his audience an acoustic buffet of traditional American and original folk, ole time mountain music, bluegrass and gospel tunes, as well as coal mining songs of Northeast Pennsylvania.

Although her six and twelve-string guitars remain her main accompaniment in her shows, you'll often see KJ (short for KJ Reimensnyder-Wagner)toting her 5-string banjo, mandolin, lap dulcimer, autoharp, keyboard or djembe drum for songs best written and performed on these instruments. Or in downsizing to be more portable, KJ shines evermore with a cappella songs felt with heart and soul.
