Rush Township unveils Safe Routes plans

Announcing a $204,000 Safe Routes to Schools grant for Rush Township, are left to right: Gary Bender, grant writer, Schuylkill County Office of Economic Development; Dominic Yanuzzi, Alfred Benesch & Company; Alan Baranski, vice president, NEPA Alliance; Stephen W. Simchak, chairman, Rush Township board of supervisors; Frank Staudenmeier, county commissioner; Bill Hanley, aide to Congressman Tim Holden; Mantura Gallagher, chairman, Schuylkill County board of commissioners; and Frank McAndrew, commissioner. The announcement was made earlier this month at the Rush Township Municipal Building. The project will provide for safety and infrastructure upgrades between Rush Elementary School and the community.
