As of Monday, PA 873 north will be closed and detoured between Mountain Rd and Route 248 for work on the Route 873 Bridge over the Lehigh River.

The posted detour will route PA 873 north traffic on Main/Diamond Street, Route 145 and Route 248.The work is part of an ongoing $4,632,725 contract to replace parapets on bridges in Berks, Lehigh, and Northampton counties.A bridge parapet is a wall-like barrier at the edge of shoulder on the bridge.The work is expected to be completed by Aug. 31.
