Domestic incident probed in Thorpe
Jim Thorpe police reported a borough resident has been charged following a domestic incident.
Police said the incident occurred on Tuesday, May 3, about 10:21 p.m.
On the time and date stated police were dispatched to 521 South Ave. for the report of an active domestic incident.
Upon arrival officers were told that Stephen Witt, 37, of that address, allegedly dragged his girlfriend out of the residence and down the front steps by her leg.
The woman, who was not identified by police, suffered injuries to her head and back and at one point was unconscious.
Witt left the residence before the arrival of police and a warrant was issued for his arrest charging him with simple assault and harassment.
Police said at the time of the incident Witt was serving a weekend prison sentence at the county jail for another incident.
