Leo Popick, of Barnesville, was taken to the hospital after suffering minor injuries from a two-vehicle accident just before 7 a.m. this morning at the intersections of Ben Titus Road and Claremont Ave., (SR309), in Hometown. Reportedly, Popick, the driver of a gray GMC pickup truck, while pulling out from Fairview Street onto 309 north, ran a red light and pulled into the path of John Allen, Pottsville, driving a red Ford Ranger, who was traveling south on Claremont Avenue, SR309. Rush Township Police Officer Scott Cramer is investigating. Both vehicles were totaled and had to be towed from the scene. Responding were Hometown Fire Company, McAdoo ambulance and others. Fire police detoured traffic around the scene during the response and fluid cleanup. No other injuries were reported.
