Right, Helen Snyder, an avid crocheter and seamstress, has been crocheting American flags for local Palmerton businesses to display in their windows. Now she has given crocheted American flags to the S.S. Palmer Elementary School and Parkside Elementary School. Left, Ms. Mary Brunbach, principal of the two schools, and a few S.S. Palmer students, Alexis Merkel, Nicholas Papay, Maddison Beahm and Seth Young, graciously accepted them on the schools' behalf. Ms. Brunbach said the flags were beautiful. "I think they're incredible and a great legacy to Palmerton. I've seen them throughout Palmerton and it's great to have one for each of the schools." Snyder is currently working on two larger versions, one for the junior and senior high schools. She says she is doing this "from the heart" and she's "all American."
