Nesquehoning minimart robbed

Police from throughout Carbon County are searching for a young man wanted in the armed robbery of the Solo minimart in Nesquehoning Tuesday night. The incident occurred at 8:12 p.m. when the man entered the mart armed with a black handgun and demanded money. He reportedly made off with more than a thousand dollars in cash. He possibly left the mart on foot climbing a grass hill to the rear of the business near Center Street. Numerous police departments responded to the scene but were unable to locate the gunman. The man was reported to be in his early 20s wearing a blue hoodie and a green bandanna over his face. Nesquehoning police are investigating the incident.
