Man falls from bucket truck

A worker was seriously injured Monday afternoon after falling approximately 15 feet from a bucket truck at a work site. The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. at the Mahoning Valley Country Club along Country Club Drive in Mahoning Township. Township police report the victim was up in the bucket when a bolt broke which holds the lower and upper booms together. The victim fell to an asphalt paved lot. The man was treated at the scene by members of the Mahoning Valley ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being flown via PennStar helicopter to a St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. The worker is employed by the Lehigh Gas Corporation of the Lehigh Valley.
