State police at Frackville reported on three crashes investigated by troopers occurring on Schuylkill County roadways this week.

A two vehicle crash occurred about 9:28 p.m. on Monday, May 2, in the area of 435 Mount Olive Blvd. (SR54), in West Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Mary Lou Bickowski, 48, of Girardville, was eastbound and Brooke Lyn Frantz, 19, also of Girardville, was westbound. Troopers said Bickowski traveled into the path of Frantz while rounding a curve. Bickowski's 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser struck the front end of Frantz's 1998 Plymouth Caravan.

Bickowski and a passenger with Frantz, a 17-year-old female, sustained minor injuries. Troopers said Bickowski was cited.

The second crash occurred on Tuesday, May 3, about 3:35 p.m. along SR924, in the village of Brandonville, in East Union Township. Troopers said Harry J. McClintock, 57, of Pottsville, and Joseph L. Lutz, 43, of Sugarloaf, were both southbound. Troopers said traffic was stop and go in the area due to a school bus.

Troopers said Lutz stopped behind the bus and his GMC Sonoma was struck in the rear by McClintock's 2010 Chevrolet. Damages were moderate to the front of the Chevy and minor to the rear of the GMC.

No one was injured. Troopers said McClintock was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.

The third crash occurred about 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday along Interstate 81 in Delano Township. Troopers said Shirley M. Benner, 81, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus northbound when she lost control of the car. The vehicle went onto the berm and struck a large rock and then a rock embankment.

Benner sustained a minor injury and was taken by Ryan Township ambulance to the Hazleton General Hospital. Volunteers from the Delano and Ryan Township fire companies assisted at the scene.

Troopers said Benner was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
