D'Andrea hoping to become mayor of Weatherly borough

Joseph D'Andrea of 411 Sixth St., Weatherly is hoping to be elected the mayor of Weatherly.

D'Andrea retired from teaching high school biology after 37-1/2 years. He was also athletic director at Hazleton High School for 16 years.

He has been a member of the Weatherly Area School District School Board for 10 years and also served 10 years as a Weatherly Borough councilman. In addition to those position, he served as Weatherly's mayor for eight years and is in the second year of a four-year term as borough councilman for a combine total of 31 years of community service.

He is a member of the American Legion Post 360, Weatherly Ambulance Association, Weatherly Area Community Chest, Knights of Columbus Council 12105, Our Lady of Lourdes eucharistic minister and lector, Weatherly Area Alumni Association and Scholarship committee, Eurana Park Activities committee, Silver Ridge Hunting Club, Weatherly Senior Citizens Friendship Club and Carbon Copy Prime Time Club.

He was born and raised in Weatherly and has been part of the decision making for the borough for 31 years.
