A Lansford man has been cited by Tamaqua police after he failed to pay for items he picked up at the Turkey Hill Minit Mart on Broad Street.

Dustin Brian Shields, 21, of Springgarden Street., allegedly entered the store last Saturday shortly after 1 a.m. and proceeded to take a bag of potato chips and seven candy bars. The total value of the items was $11.13.

Shields left the store when confronted by the sales clerk, but was apprehended a short time later on Patterson Street. He was cited for retail theft.
