4th Annual Bear Run coming up

The West End Rotary Club is looking for runners and walkers to participate in its 4th Annual Bear Run and Fun Walk on Saturday, April 16 at the Pleasant Valley High School on Rt. 209, Brodheadsville.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the Run and Walk will begin at 9 a.m. The proceeds will benefit the West End Relay For Life/American Cancer Society and other Rotary projects.Registration cost before April 10 is $20 and after April 10, $25, for runners and walkers. There is a discount of $2 off each registration for same name family members and $2 off registration for students up to grade 12. Only one discount allowed per person.Awards will be given to the top two male and female runners, plus top three male and female in the following age categories: 13 and under; 14-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 +.The first 150 pre-registrants will receive a technical tee shirt. Register by April 1 to insure receiving a shirt. There will also be random drawings by bib numbers for prizes.The course will be a 5K race around the Pleasant Valley school grounds. It is a flat, scenic course made up of sidewalk, blacktop and grass.
