Concession stand donated to Thorpe school district

Jim Thorpe Area School Board voted in favor to accept a concession stand donated by Richard Emmert. The concession stand is planned to be used for soccer, baseball, and softball events.

"I approached Dustin McAndrew (Athletic Director) about donating a concession stand to the district," said Emmert, JTASD Girls Soccer Coach. "I would rather give it to someone who can use it and benefit from it," he said.

Emmert said that he does not want any money for the concession trailer. "This is a total donation," he said.

The stainless steel trailer has a commercial refrigerator and freezer. It is also equipped with a soda fountain system and a gas range stove. Emmert plans to install new lights and a gas grill.

Emmert said, 'If you plan on getting rid of it in the future, contact myself or local soccer clubs and give them the opportunity to take it."
