Monroe crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating two auotmobile crashes on Monroe County roads recently.

A crash was reported at about 1:12 p.m. on March 23 along Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township. Troopers said Ashley M. Jones, 23, of Fords, N.J., was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound when the road surface became icy. The vehicle spun around and went onto the berm where it struck the guide rail with the front end.

Jones was not injured.

The second crash occurred about 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, along White Church Road, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Alex L. Lombardi, 20, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2003 Honda Accord when he lost control. The vehicle went onto the berm and down an embankment where it struck a snow bank with the front end. Lombardi was not injured.
