Tamaqua break-in investigated, attempt to open safe unsuccessful

Tamaqua Police are investigating another break-in. This one was discovered by officers on patrol at 10:25 p.m. Wednesday, when officers observed an open garage bay door at the former Rite Aid Store on Pine Street.

The officers checked the area and discovered the suspect(s) had entered through the garage door, then broke through an interior wall to access the Family Dollar Store. An attempt was made to open the safe, but was unsuccessful.

The store had closed at 9 p.m.
