Motorcyclists in Lehigh crash

Two motorcyclists from Shoemakersville, Berks County, were injured when a tree fell onto the road and struck them. The accident occurred about 2:34 p.m. on Friday, March 18, along SR309 in Lynn Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Judy L. Geisinger, 38, was southbound when the tree fell into her path. The incident was near the bottom of the Blue Mountain and across from the entrance to state game lands. Geisinger's bike struck the tree, and a few moments later another biker, Rodney L. Geisinger, 48, struck the tree as well. After impact Judy Geisinger continued south and was able to stop her bike. Rodney Geisinger lost control of his bike and layed it down coming to final rest in the northbound lane.

Both bikers were injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment. A photo of the accident scene appeared on page 7 of Saturday's TIMES NEWS.
