Carbon commissioner honored with Afterschool Champion award

Carbon County Commissioner Wayne Nothstein, center, was recently named one of 17 Pennsylvania Statewide Afterschool/Youth Development Network's (PSAYDN) "Afterschool Champions." He was nominated for the award by Jeanne Miller, director of the SHINE Afterschool program and co-chair of the Carbon County Child and Family Collaborative. With Nothstein are, from left, Thiery Malley of Pennsylvania Area Boys and Girls Club; state Sen. John Yudichak; Nothstein; state Sen. David Argall; and Lynne Cromley, executive director of Center for Schools and Communities. State Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) was also present at the PSAYDN annual meeting reception and awards luncheon in Harrisburg., but is missing from photo.
