An arrest has been made in a Carbon County burglary.

State police at Lehighton said Andrew W. Brucks, 26, of Lehighton, has been charged in connection with a break-in that occurred at the residence of Jerimiah Schafer, 24, of 25 Watson Park Blvd., Franklin Township. The burglary was reported on March 6 about 2:15 p.m. At that time Schafer heard someone breaking into his home through a basement door. He confronted the intruder who fled the home and got into a Jeep Wrangler and left toward Watson Road.

Troopers said they received two anonymous telephone calls concerning the fleeing Jeep, which was blue in color. Upon further investigation the Wrangler was identified and the registered owner was identified.

Troopers said Schafer was brought to the barracks where he viewed a photo array. The victim identified Brucks as the person he confronted in his home.

An arrest warrant was issued for Brucks and he was located in Croydon, Bucks County, and taken into custody. He was brought back to Carbon County and arraigned before District Judge Bruce Appleton, of Palmerton, and committed to the county prison in lieu of $3,000 cash bail.
