One person was injured Wednesday afternoon when two cars collided along SR309 in Rush township. The crash occurred just before 4 p.m. in the north bound lanes about a half mile north of the intersection with SR54 in Hometown. One person was treated by members of the Tamaqua Community ambulance and transported to an area hospital. The occupants of the second car appeared to have escaped injury in the mishap. The north bound lanes were reduced to one lane during the investigation. Rush township police are investigating the incident.
