Completes military dog handler course

Senior Airman Sara Donner of the United States Air Force recently completed an 11-week Military Working Dog Handler Course at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. This elite K-0 course, comprised of only nine soldiers from the Air Force, Navy and Army, were trained to handle dogs from the patrol side to the detection side of law enforcement. For these nine highly trained servicemembers the military working dog is not only their friend but their trusted companion, loyal follower and No. 1 teammate. Graduation ceremonies were held on Jan. 27 in San Antonio, Texas.

Military dog handlers are deployed all over the world in support of world operation. Airman Donner, who has been in the United States Air Force Security Forces since April 2008, has been stationed at FE Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. With this new training and military dog assigned to Airman Donner, she will now be moving to Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina.Airman Donner graduated from Lehighton Area High School and Kutztown University with a B.S. degree in criminal justice. She is the daughter of Gary and Karen Donner of Lehighton.

Donner
