Liquor citations

Published March 09. 2011 05:00PM

Two Schuylkill County establishments have been cited by the Allentown enforcement office of the state liquor control board.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles 134, located at 16-18 S. Second St., Pottsville, were cited for selling alcoholic beverages to non-members. The violation occurred on Dec. 22, 2010.

Summit Station Fire Company No. 1, of Wayne Township, was cited for failure to operate small games of chance in conformity with the liquor code. The violations occurred a total of 46 times in 2010, according to the liquor board.

These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge.
