The work project for SR54 in Mahanoy City, and Mahanoy and Ryan townships, will begin Wednesday, March 9.

Pennsy Supply Inc., of Hummelstown, is the general contractor on the $3.42 million project to improve the road between Coles Street and Hillside Drive.The project calls for milling and paving, new signs, curb ramp upgrades, guiderail upgrades and drainage inlet repairs.Motorists should expect possible lane restrictions Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.Construction is expected to finish this fall.
