A 38-year-old woman was injured Tuesday morning when she rolled her vehicle after coming in contact with a patch of ice in Lower Towamensing Township. The crash occurred just before 8 a.m. as the victim was traveling south on Forest Inn Road. After losing control on the ice her vehicle struck an earth embankment causing the unit to roll back onto the roadway coming to rest on its wheels. The victim was extricated from the wreckage by members of the Aquashicola Fire Company, treated at the scene by members of the Palmerton Ambulance then transported to the Palmerton Hospital. Forest Inn road was closed over an hour. State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
