Schuylkill driver cited after crash

A Schuylkill County driver was cited following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 4:54 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, along SR209 in Blythe Township.

State police at Frackville said Alice A. Correa, 49, of New Philadelphia, was driving a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero westbound just outside the village of Cumbola when she attempted to avoid a tree branch and swerved. The car struck a utility pole along the berm. The pole was severed in half and the Alero became disabled off the right berm.

Correa sustained a minor injury in the crash and was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment. The car was towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Correa for driving on roadways laned for traffic. The investigation into the crash is continuing, troopers added.
