Pate also threatened to kill Gernert numerous times if she tried to leave the residence. The incidents occurred over a period of time of 10 p.m. Friday, June 17, and 8 a.m. on Saturday.

Pate was taken into custody at the scene and arraigned before duty District Judge Anthony Kilker, of Shenandoah, by video at the county prison in Pottsville, charged with simple assault and terroristic threats. He was unable to post $35,000 straight cash bail and was committed to the prison, troopers said.
