The meeting of the Panther Valley Golden Agers opened with a prayer by Mary Ann Stotelmyer, "Flag Day Prayer For Our Nation." God Bless America was sung by the group.
A discussion about an indoor picnic was held among the members, with a possible day of having it in August. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to sign up at the upcoming meetings.
The Hospitality Committee for July and August are Joanne Large and Fran Hager.
Entertainment by Eileen Miser was enjoyed by all. She performed wearing 20 different hats while singing and playing on her keyboard.
Bob Olney, the representative for the Prime Time Clubs, paid an annual visit and gave a short presentation.
The next meeting will be June 27 at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hall, Summit Hill.
St. Paul Lutheran
The Rev. Robert Brueckner, a retired pastor from Nescopeck, will be the guest preacher at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, on Sunday, June 26. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m.
on Sunday, July 3, the Rev. John W. Tomlinson, a retired pastor from Allentown, will lead the worship service. Congregation members are reminded the worship service during the months of July and August will begin at 9:30 a.m.
There will be a brief congregational meeting following worship on July 3 to discuss the painting the church. All members are encouraged to attend.
The service schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, June 26, is as follows:
Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Burgess Gordon will officiate at both services.
A training session for youths interested in becoming alter servers at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will be held on Sunday, June 26, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the church. After the training, the new servers will serve at the 10:30 a.m. Mass with the help of their trainers.

Registration for the 2011 St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church Vacation Bible School will be held after the weekend masses on June 25-26 and July 2-3. The VBS will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Jule 25-29. Its theme will be "Discovery Canyon."
Both adult and teenage volunteers are needed to help in various areas such as music, games, drama and crafts.
Registration for the 2011-12 school year at Our Lady of the Angels Academy, Lansford, is now under way. Parents can register their child(ren) at the school office from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Other arrangements can be made by calling the school office, (570) 645-7170 or 645-7101.
Children registering for kindergarten must be 5 years old by Oct. 15 following the September when they enter school. First graders must be 6 years old by the same date following the September when they enter school.
Please will be asked to provide the child's birth and baptismal certificates, immunization records and a registration fee upon registering the child.
Special Wednesday this week starting at 5:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford. During the free simple supper, participants will meet with young people from St. Luke's, New Windsor, Md., who have come here on a mission trip.

CHOSE is hosting free movie night in the park on Friday, June 24 at dusk. June 25 is the rain date.
All the children will receive a free hot dog, popcorn and drink.
