Backwash tank installed at Bungalow pool in Tamaqua
Andy Leibenguth/Times News Crews had a challenge positioning a fiberglass backwash tank at Bungalow Park in Tamaqua.
A new tank, which allows for a larger pool water backwash to help prevent loss of chlorinated water into the Wabash, was positioned at the H.D. Buehler Memorial Pool at Tamaqua Bungalow Park last week.
A heavy wrecker, operated by Hope's Towing, was used to transport and position a one-ton, 1,500 gallon, fiberglass backwash tank after its arrival from Bognet Inc. in Hazleton.
Crews had the challenging task of negotiating the large heavy duty wrecker within inches of the pool's fence and low-laying power lines.
The tank upgrade was done after dye testing done last year resulted in findings of traces of chlorinated backwash leaking into the Wabash instead of the sewers.
