A Tamaqua man was taken into custody last Saturday, May 28, after causing a disturbance at the Citizen's Fire Company on Rowe Street.

Officers were called to the fire company at 3 a.m. to deal with a man who refused to leave despite repeated requests from a company member.

Anthony Joseph Malay, 28, of 330 W. Spruce St., argued with the officer, then agreed to leave. As he left Malay allegedly began yelling and screaming causing a disturbance and was taken into custody.

He was released at 4:30 a.m. with citations for public drunkenness and criminal trespass.
