Local players make LV Carpenter Cup team

Six TIMES NEWS Area players are among the 25 players to make the roster of this year's the Lehigh Valley Carpenter Cup Classic baseball team.

Pleasant Valley's Drew Borger and Derrick Walling, Lehighton's Tyler Harris and Tyler Hill, Northern Lehigh's Jake Kern and Palmerton's Christian Marcin have made the roster, while Palmerton's Aaron Cook and Pleasant Valley's Danny Hrebik are two of the three alternates.Former Palmerton head coach Ted Plessl will manage the squad with Mike Grasso, Jack Potosky, Mike Pochron, Lance Mueller and former Lehighton coach George harris as assistants.Lehigh Valley begins play on Monday, June 13 at 12:30 p.m against Philadelphia Public at Ashburn Field in FDR Park, Philadelphia.The team will also have a home game, of sorts, when it entertains the winner of Olympic Colonial vs. Inter-AC/Independents on June 17 at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown.The Carpenter Cup Final Four will take place on June 20-21 at Citizens Bank Park.
